Welcome!
Note: Any one looking for the bryophytes plant list from Ken Kellman's walk at Fall Creek on January 25, 2009 please click here.
You have reached the Friends of Quail Hollow volunteer website for Quail Hollow Ranch County Park in Santa Cruz County, California.
(The county website is available here.)
To quote from the county website ...
Nestled deep in the Santa Cruz Mountains is this 300-acre historic horse ranch and nature preserve, home to 15 habitats and 4.5 miles of hiking and equestrian trails.
In the center of this tear-drop shaped valley one will find the ranch complex consisting of the visitor center housed in a historic ranch house, picnic areas, horse barns and turnouts, lawn area, orchard, and parking lot, with basic amenities including bathrooms and drinking fountain.
To view a video about the park go here.
The website consists mainly of a wiki site and an image gallery.
(The menu on the left will take you to these components of the site.)
The Wiki
Included here is information about the programs, activities, natural resources, history, etc. of the park.
It is a resource for the public and visitors to the park as well as for volunteers and other friends of the park.
It is implemented as a wiki site to maximize the ease with which contributors may participate.
(Contributions of park relevant articles are quite welcome!)
Note: The wiki may be temporarily closed to the public as it is being constructed.
Volunteers or other interested parties who wish to view the construction process are welcome to do so, if they so desire. Ask the administrator for a username and password.
The Image Gallery
Please contact the administrator if you have photos you would like to contribute.
Photos taken at the park are especially welcome.
But likewise are images of high relevance to the park, such as photos of plants or animals that are found at the park, though the images may have been taken elsewhere.
Note: The image gallery is also under construction, but is more presentable at the present than the wiki. Many albums though will be empty, or nearly so.
